Educator, Instructor
Russell Wharton is a percussionist educator, performer, and composer living in the Nashville area. He is a member of the percussion faculty for Middle Tennessee State University, and is the Co-Battery Coordinator for The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps.
Composer, Bass drum specialist
Russell has been heavily involved in the marching arts since 2008. He was a member of The Cavaliers bass drum line from 2008-2012, where he served as the percussion section leader in 2012 and helped the 2011 section capture the Fred Sanford High Percussion Award. He has been on the Cavaliers staff since 2015, and has also taught Monarch Independent, Cavaliers Indoor, and the Boston Crusaders.
