Performer, Educator
Joey Martinez lives in Fresno, CA. Like most great young men and women, he started his career in Open Class, marching BDB in 2008 (Bass 4). Then went on to march in the Blue Devils in ‘09 (Bass 3), ‘10 (Bass 3) & aged out in ‘11 as section leader (Bass 2). He was lucky enough to enjoy being a part of 2 consecutive undefeated championship seasons as a drum corps (‘09-’10) and an undefeated season as a percussion section in 2009, winning the Fred Sanford trophy. For indoor, he marched 2011 RCC (Bass 3), Pulse Percussion ‘12 (Bass 2), and aged out in 2013 with RCC again (Bass 3).

He started teching right away. He has taught the Pulse Percussion bassline since 2014 (7 seasons now….most of you are so young that if you’ve seen a Pulse, he probably taught it). Taught 5 seasons of Ghost Bass (Phantom Regiment bassline) from ‘14-’18, Star Bass (Blue Stars bassline) in ‘19, and now is now teaching Bassque (The Cavaliers Bassline) for the 20’ season and onward and has no intention on stopping teching anytime soon. He hopes to see you on the road with a group someday as competition or in a line with him, so let him help you work towards your goals!
